This category contains the safety circuit components for spa heaters and spa control systems.
The term 'Sensors' covers all these devices as they 'sense' a desired attribute of the condition of the spa.
Temperature Sensors and thermostats - are either electronic sensor probes or electro-mechanical adjustable thermostats with capillary tubes to detect current water temperature and provide temperature control.
Over-Temperature or Hi-Limit sensors and thermostats - as above - they can be electronic or electro-mechanical and are designed to detect water temperature and trip out or trigger a spa/heater shutdown, should water temperature reach a dangerously high level.
Flow Switches - detect the positive movement of water within a tube or pipe to ensure protection of heaters and pumps.
Pressure switches - are similar to flow switches, however require water pressure, rather than water flow to activate.
Vacuum switches - same as a pressure switch, however they are used in the pipework on the suction side of the pump. Perfect when a Gecko (or similar) controller needs to installed in the suction plumbing due to space - replaces the pressure switch normally used. A lack of suction will open the vacuum switch contacts.
Water Sensors - are usually a prismatic light sensor or metallic conductive post which will allow a completed circuit in the presence of water to ensure dry run protection.
Float Switches - detect a correct level of water to enable operation for heater and dry run protection.
